A story about a New York writer who now wants to be a podcast, hoping to tell good stories that connect with people. It felt like he was going through an existential crisis with his thoughts on the American state, its relationships and everything in between as he told John. Meyer in one event One night he received a strange phone call saying that his girlfriend Abilene had been murdered and had to come down to Texas for a funeral. They dated a few times. But her family believed they were dating. He heads south where her brother Ty (Hobrook) tells Ben that he thinks she was murdered and now wants to avenge her death. An angry Ben who seems to have taken an overdose. But sees the contradiction of reality as the perfect story to tell on podcasts. His producer, played by Issa Rae, gave him the green light to take him on a winding path to where the truth lies.
